Introducing the Don Chinto Moche Vessel Head!
Long ago, the Moche people were an Andean civilization that flourished from the 1st to the 8th century CE on the northern coast of what is now Peru. Renowned for their sophisticated craft goods, metalwork, and pottery, the Moche produced some of the finest naturalistic sculpture in pre-Columbian Peru, famously known for their fine-quality water jars featuring a distinctive stirrup spout.
Produced at the Hacienda La Capilla distillery, this amber, strong, and "masculine" tasting aiiejo tequila is named after the legendary joker, troublemaker, and master moonshiner Don Chinto from the 16th century.
Having come from no money, the legend says he traveled across the ocean to work for his uncle, eventually becoming the heir to a small piece of land overgrown with weeds. Here, he cobbled together a small distillery and began to distill mezcal from the blue agave that grew there, bringing the joys of the agave spirits to the nearby townspeople.
This rich and complex aiiejo tequila is made from blue agave plants and produced in Jalisco, Mexico, fermented and distilled in stainless steel tanks. With a rich and spicy taste, let the deep caramel tones and light sweetness dance on the tongue while you admire this beautiful Moche-inspired ceramic vessel, featuring hand-painted turquoise and gold elements as well as a signature stirrup spout.
