KWV - Vanderhum
Over 300 years ago the original Dutch settlers in the Cape found that the climate and soil of their new Colony were particularly suited for the cultivation of grapes. They subsequently started making brandies and wine which they also blended with local fruit and herbs. One particular drink that found special favor was a blend of very old brandy, tangerines - locally known as Naartjies, herbs, and spices as well as extracts from other citrus fruits. So famous and sought after did this liqueur become the appreciative drinkers named it after it's an original blender, Van der Hum.
